Value & Anatomy Study

I used this study to practise my shading, anatomy, and sense of depth.

The red lines are a breakdown of the image so I could better understand the shapes that were happening.
The green lines are my sketch/attempt to draw my reference freehand
The blue lines are corrections I made when I overlayed my green sketch on the red sketch to see how close I got to the reference.

I made the line art after adding the correction lines, and didn't trace the reference image in any way~

I then went about the normal process of shading, adding/removing various grays and trying my best to replicate reference image
I'm quite happy with the result I got to for this study, though my depth still needs a lot of work as there’s small areas that still look flat~

From sketch to finish this took me 4.5 hours
